My name is Amos and I am from Mizoram, After completing my class 12th I was worried for my career and I got to know about the course which is provided by Visan Foundation. I contacted one of the staff member and she guided me so well that I took admission here. I am so happy that I received a training in Food and Beverage Service Steward. I learned a lot which helped me a lot in building my own career in hospitality industry.

I got selected one of the famous Chinese restaurant chain called Bercos.

Sir there’s still so many things which help me to build a good environment in the working place as I’m carrying the name of Visan Foundation.

I am Manjita from Senapati district, Manipur. I was very confused after completing my class 12th and being in Manipur I was not getting proper guidance to fulfill my dreams. My parents are also not able to support for higher education due to financial problem. My friend told me about the Visan Foundation and I was surprised that how any organization can give free training with hostel in Delhi during this pandemic. I have enquired about it and took admission here.

I learned a lot which I have never been aware and also our teaching staff taught us the basic things and the things which will be important in building our own career in hospitality industries.

I got an opportunity to work in a good property like The Oberoi Hotel this is all thanks to my teachers. The training I received is very much effective and it is the daily basis I’m applying right now.

My name is Safia and I am from New Delhi. I belong to a nuclear family having 1 elder sister and 4 younger sisters. My educational qualification a 12th from CBSE board. I am pursuing B.Sc. (BCH) from IGNOU University. One of my friend told me about Visan Foundation that they are providing free certificate course in hospitality. It was a great opportunity for me & made a visit to the institute, came to know what all the courses are and applied here and took admission in CSE (Counter Sales Executive) as I decided to make my career, i joined CSE. The facilities provided here are really nice to all students as they provide 3 times of healthy meal and twice the tea, apart from that i got uniform & books. Teaching methods are also good to learn, teachers are very helpful, theory and practical’s done as per the time table. I learn multiple things here useful for all professionals of hospitality. They let us know benefits grooming, positive attitude, F. & B service and its operation, all about counter sales, good behaviour, improved our communication, motivated us to achieve the goal we decided and after gaining the confidence, i got selected in many campus interviews which were again organized by Visan Foundation. Finally i joined in Biryani by Kilo as Tele Caller Executive fetching 19100 INR (CTC). I introduced my sister Farheen as well & she is also doing the course of F. & B. Service and she also selected with me in the same organization on same post with same package. Now I & parents are as happy as I step up towards my professional growth to be a successful personnel of hospitality. Thanks to the Visan Foundation.

I am Chanchal belongs to middle class family. Before Two month i joined Visan Foundation to do a course of F & B Service, that time i was not knowing about the facilities i was going to entertain with and the benefits of the course as well to be a highly motivated hospitality professional. I studied and learn about grooming, manner, positive thinking, attitude, communication skills& good behaviour. I learn here how to give an effective interview & how to introduce myself. I earned F. & B. Service product knowledge here as done & taught practically and frequent visit of various F. & B., outlets & Shopping malls as well, where we came to know about the operation process. I found myself in good direction, i have many new friends with me now those are all happy as i am. We all are provided 3 times of nutritious meal with salad as well & we have two tea breaks also. At last i got selected for Biryani by Kilo & Barb-Q-Nation. I was having two option to join, and finally i joined “The Salt Restaurant” with 18500/ in Kerala. I and my family is thankful to the faculty & Visan Foundation as a whole.

My name is Jyoti Yadav, I am from Gurugram. In my family there is my father who works as a house maker whereas mother is a housewife. Last month one of my friend let me know about Visan Foundation. I planned a visit to the institute of Visan Foundation in Sikanderpur, Gurgaon. Here I was introduced with all the skilful professionalized course, and I was glad on the moment when they informed that all facilities like free meal of 3 times, for staying we were having well cleaned & fully hygienic hostel, free uniform & books were free to all students. I always wanted to be in front so I chose the 2 months certificate course of Counter Sale Executive (CSE). I learnt about the hospitality industry and role of Food & Beverage department, how to be presentable, grooming, professional behaviour, customer and guest handling, communication, retail management, Time management, team management, HACCP, positive attitude, leadership etc. Faculty and teacher are very helpful and teach us very well theoretically as well as practically. I am now gone through a campus interview which was again organized by the Visan only and I am selected for Hilton hotel in F.& B. department. My parents are very happy as I am. I would like to pay my regards to all for their ultimate support. I am grateful that I came here and got nurtured by the trained trainers those changed my personality up to the level from where I can start my career and it is done now. Finally I got success in getting my very first dream job.

Kiran Kumari a young lady from an orphanage from Patna connected to Visan Foundation by Rainbow Foundation, she has no one in this world except her Mrs. Sadiya Didi- an NGO coordinator. She is not able to speak even correct Hindi language. During the training, she has been encouraged by trainers and her batch mates. A big transformation is visible, post training she has got an opportunity to work with Paras Hospital on pay role Shine & Standard (Vendor). She is getting INR 16500 salary and living a very happy life with her batch mates. Her Sadiaya Didi keeps talking to her. We feel proud helping such weaker section of the community.

I spoke to her and she said, “Sir Mujhe acha lag raha hai. Mai Marijo ki Dekhbhal karti hoon aur unko un ke kam ke liye support karti hoon. Mai Visan Foundation aur UWD ko Danyabad karna chahti hoon.”

Muskan Rana, a very energetic lady from Haryana came with friends to join training. During her counselling she had a concern whether she would get job. She had met youth who have completed professional training and they don’t have any job. She came to me on the day when three hospitals and home care visited our GH campus for campus placement. She got an opportunity to work with Apollo Home Care. She is very happy. She is undergoing process training of Apollo. She said, “I’m very happy, here I got wings to fly. I will fulfil all my dreams. Serving as GDA I’ll pursue GNM and become Nurse with Apollo.” She Thanks Visan Foundation and UWD for shaping her career.

He first got selected for Sevarat Goa but again he got selected by Sodexo India Pvt Ltd for Mahaveer Hospital Surat. He’s been working there and he is very happy.

Year 2016-17

Priya, a student of class 7th of Literacy India belongs to a poor family. She has three siblings. Her father is not physically fit and works as a helper in some shop. Her mother works in Maruti Company as labourer and earns only Rs.6500/- per month. Due to financial shortage sometimes they are even not able to pay school fees.

Priya was a shy child and was mostly quiet in class but after attending the English sessions of Adding Wings Project she has become a lot more confident and has also started participating actively in class.

Her school teachers have also noticed change in her performance and participation. She used to score 40-45 marks earlier in English but now has scored 65 marks in her mid-term assessment in school.

Ankit Das is a student of Class 7th, Devli. His father works as an auto driver and his mother is a housewife. He has a brother and a sister. He aspires to be a successful person and wants to have a good job after completing his studies. He wants to support his father and family.

Ankit is very hardworking but needed little extra help in understanding English, but teachers in his school had no time to explain to him. ADDING WINGS sessions and activities brought out the innate curiosity and habit of learning he had within him. He enthusiastically participated in English sessions. He completes his homework punctually and also asks his queries and problems from the trainer.

His scorecard also reflects his increased abilities. He scored 57 marks during mid-assessments as compared to 35 marks scored during pre-assessment.

Ankit was also chosen to interact with Mr Arvind Kerjiwal, Chief Minister, Delhi, on the occasion of Children’s Day. He interacted with Mr Kejriwal on burning issue of Pollution and spoke really well in English.

Kuldip, is a student of Class 6th, L-Block. His father works in an export company as labourer and his mother is a housewife. He has three sisters. Both his parents are illiterate and couldn’t help Kuldip in his studies.

Kuldip used to be a shy student and hesitated a lot while giving answers in English. He could read English story books but couldn’t understand what the stories meant. In a span of 7 months, after the advent of ADDING WINGS project, he has become a lot more confident and has started conversing in English using simple sentences. He underlines the words which he doesn’t understand in English and asks the trainer for its meanings. He enjoys audio-video sessions a lot as he considers it to be the best way of teaching and learning.

Roshni, student of Class 8th, Literacy India, is an ambitious child. Her father works in a sports company as helper and earns monthly wages of Rs.6500/-. Her mother is a homemaker. Roshni has three sisters and one brother. They live in a rented house for which they pay Rs.2000/- every month. The family is able to meet their daily needs with great difficulty with this meagre income.

In the recent past, Roshni’s family had to face tough situations as her father caught cataract and her sister couldn’t recover from a leg fracture. Doctors have advised her father for operation and a leg transplant for her sister, if she doesn’t respond to the ongoing treatment.

Roshni’s parents couldn’t afford her education in a good school so she had to stick to Government School where the quality of education was very poor. She wants to become successful in life and support her father after completing her studies.

She says that she knows that to be successful in today’s world, English plays a vital role. To be perfect in English is her aim, but till now she couldn’t get the opportunity. Adding Wings project has provided her the right platform. She has improved not only in her Communicative English but there has been a paradigm shift in her personality too. She is a lot more confident and has gathered lots of praise from her teachers, family members and friends.

UDAAN Program has given direction to my life. I didn’t know anything before the program but Visan and Gurgaon Police initiative taught and groomed me on how to talk and carry myself. I have become a lot more confident and can appear in any interview.

He got in touch with Visan Foundation – Gurgaon Police “UDAAN”programme, and for preparing himself better for a job he attended hospitality training at SSDH Gurgaon campus. After successful completion of the program, he has been selected at ITC Grand Hotel, Manesar, with a salary of Rs. 8000/- per month.

Smart and good looking Bobby Sen was desperately looking for a job and all he needed was proper grooming and focused training. He got mobilized under Gurgaon Police “UDAAN”programme and attended training at School of Skills Development in Hospitality (SSDH). The training helped him immensely to adjust very well in his job. The training gave him the much required skills, knowledge and confidence to do his job with a professional approach. Finally, he got selected and has joined KFC Medanta, as Team Member. His father is an auto driver and has limited earning. Bobby now will be able to add his bit to the family kitty.

After being mobilised under Visan Foundation Gurgaon Police “UDAAN” programme and initial training at School of Skills Development in Hospitality for better grooming and understanding, he got selected in Felix Solutions. Praveen is a happy man now as he can support his father in his family finances.

Confident and Smart, Ekta hailing from Delhi, was desperately looking for a job and wanted to help her family finances as her father is a worker. For better grooming and understanding, and preparing herself better for the job, she attended skill training project under VISAN FOUNDATION. The project prepared her for the Retail-QSR sector and has successfully been selected at Devyani International Ltd as a Team Member at Pizza Hut with a salary of Rs. 7745/- per month, and is able to support her family.
